Project Overview | Key Facts
The Ryder Cup is one of the most prestigious events in professional golf, showcasing the best players from Europe and the United States in a high-profile, biennial team competition. The 2023 Ryder Cup was hosted in Rome, Italy, bringing together elite golfers, extensive international media coverage, numerous sponsors, and thousands of spectators from around the globe at the Marco Simone Golf Club.
Project preparation for the 2023 Ryder Cup began in June 2022. The event required a sophisticated accreditation system capable of handling approximately 20,000 accreditations, involving a rigorous two-stage approval process for each participant, first by contract managers and subsequently by the dedicated accreditation team.
Our comprehensive accreditation solution featured advanced technologies such as cloud-based management software, UHF-encoded accreditation cards, and secure access control systems utilizing both UHF scan stations and QR code validation. Additionally, each participant was assigned specific workdays, ensuring their accreditation allowed venue access only on designated days, significantly enhancing security. Participant photos were integrated into the system, allowing security personnel to visually verify identity and prevent unauthorized accreditation usage.
We also provided an API with the onsite internet provider, using a combination of an accreditation-related TAN and participant birthdays as secure credentials for internet access.
During the event phase in September 2023, our team provided extensive onsite support, ensuring seamless operations, enhanced participant experience, and maximum security effectiveness. Our innovative accreditation system notably improved efficiency and operational effectiveness, contributing substantially to the success and smooth execution of the 2023 Ryder Cup.
